I am a retired educator, experienced tutor and published author of magazine articles and three books. Part of successful tutoring is establishing a personal connection, building a student's confidence and encouraging him/her to succeed. Tutoring allows learning to be tailored to the individual student. When tutoring, I learn about the student's interests and learning style.
