Teaching a foreign language must bring the students as close as possible to the experience of being in a country or place that speaks that language. I believe my students need to move beyond how to use a word grammatically in a sentence toward how to express a concept. My enthusiasm for connecting students with learning the Italian language makes this dynamic come alive.
