I am an economics PhD candidate at Northeastern University. As an undergrad, I was originally an English major, but after taking an economics elective course I knew I found what I wanted to do in my career. I still completed my English degree, but I also dove head first into economics. After graduating I still wanted to learn more about economics, so I went right into grad school to pursue my PhD.
