High school teachers have a lot they can learn from elementary school teachers. Too often, at the high school level, content seems to trump the needs of the students. Curriculum, benchmarks and "where I need to be" often overpower the need to reach students where they are and helping them get to where they need to be. This is a philosophy I have battled with over the year as I have always tried to see each of my students as individuals.
